1. Introduction
Task View LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Task View personal organizer application (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the App.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Task View LLC does not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your task lists, to-do items, or notes
- Your Brain Dump entries
- Your weekly or daily planning data
- Your search history within the App
- Your location
- Your contacts
- Your device identifiers beyond what Apple and Google provide to all developers through their platforms
Regulated and Protected Data
Task View is not designed, audited, or certified for use with regulated or protected data categories. We do not knowingly process, and you may not use the App to store or manage:
- Protected health information (PHI) as defined under HIPAA
- Financial account numbers, payment card information, or banking credentials
- Social Security numbers or government-issued identification numbers
- Any data subject to PCI-DSS, GLBA, SOX, FERPA, or similar regulatory frameworks
- Any other category of data subject to specific legal protection or professional confidentiality obligations
Users are solely responsible for ensuring that any content entered into the App complies with applicable laws and regulations. Task View LLC expressly disclaims all liability arising from the use of the App with regulated or protected data.
3. Information Stored on Your Device
All data you create in the App — including tasks, notes, priorities, Brain Dump entries, and settings — is stored locally on your device using SQLite, a local encrypted database. This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 4 (Cloud Backup) and Section 6 (Third-Party Services).
The following settings are stored locally on your device:
- Display name (first name used for personalized greetings)
- Week start day preference
- Date format preference
- Terms agreement record (timestamp and version)
- Lock screen widget preference
4. Cloud Backup
The App offers an optional cloud backup feature. If you enable cloud backup:
- Apple users: Your data is backed up to your personal Apple iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit framework, governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google users: Google Drive backup is coming with the Android release.
Task View LLC does not have access to your iCloud data. We do not store copies of your backup on our servers. Cloud backup is optional.
5. Authentication
Task View does not implement any sign-in or authentication flow. Cloud backup uses your existing Apple iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit framework. Task View LLC receives no identifier, email address, or credentials from Apple in connection with cloud backup.
6. Third-Party Services
6.1 Apple App Store / Google Play Store
Your subscription is managed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple or Google. Task View LLC does not receive or store your payment information.
6.2 RevenueCat
The App uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status and validate purchases. RevenueCat may collect limited technical information such as a device identifier and subscription state. RevenueCat does not receive your personal task data. RevenueCat Privacy Policy
6.3 Sentry
The App uses Sentry for crash reporting. If the App crashes, Sentry may collect limited technical information including device type, OS version, app version, and a stack trace. Sentry does not receive your personal task data. Sentry Privacy Policy
6.4 Apple and Google Platform Services
As with all apps distributed through the App Store and Google Play, Apple and Google may collect certain technical and usage information through their platforms.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. If you believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us at admin@taskviewapp.com.
8. Data Security
Your data is stored in a locally encrypted database on your device. The encryption key is stored in your device’s secure keychain and is never transmitted off your device. Task View LLC does not maintain servers that store your personal data.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. Task View LLC does not retain copies of your data on any server.
How to Delete Your Data
You can permanently delete all data stored by Task View directly within the App — no request to us is required:
- Open the App and navigate to Settings
- Tap Wipe All Data
- Confirm the deletion when prompted
This action immediately and permanently removes all tasks, priorities, Brain Dump entries, notes, recurring templates, and settings from your device. This action cannot be undone. If you have cloud backup enabled, you should also delete your backup from your iCloud account separately.
Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data from your device.
10. Your Rights
Because Task View LLC does not store your personal task data, you exercise your data rights directly through your device settings and your Apple or Google account settings.
11. European Privacy Rights (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the following applies to you.
Data We Hold About You
Task View LLC does not store your personal task data. All task content is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. You may permanently delete this data at any time using Settings → Wipe All Data within the App.
The only personal data Task View LLC processes in connection with your use of the App is limited technical data collected through our crash reporting service (Sentry) and subscription management service (RevenueCat), as described in Section 6. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in maintaining app stability and validating subscription entitlements.
Your Rights
You have the right to request access to, rectification of, erasure of, or restriction of processing of any personal data we hold about you. You also have the right to data portability and the right to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@taskviewapp.com. Because we hold only limited technical data through Sentry and RevenueCat, we will coordinate with those processors to fulfill verified requests.
International Transfers
Sentry and RevenueCat are US-based services. Any personal data processed by these services is transferred to the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses as approved by the European Commission.
Supervisory Authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the Effective Date and, where appropriate, by providing notice within the App.
13. California Privacy Rights
Because Task View LLC does not sell personal information and does not collect personal task data on its servers, many CCPA provisions may not apply. For questions, please contact us at the address below.
